We are pleased to invite universities across Portugal to participate in the Hult Prize 25/26 National Competitions, asPortugal will host one of the official phases of the global competition — the Hult Prize National Competition Hosted by ISEG Lisbon School of Economics and Management.
This National Competition will bring together the local entrepreneurial ecosystem to celebrate innovation, showcase emerging student-led startups, and select the teams that will represent Portugal in the next phase of the Hult Prize. We would love to see universities across Portugal actively involved in this milestone moment for the country.
Who can apply
- Degree-seeking students, 18+ by February 28th, 2026.
- Teams of 2–4 students (members may come from different universities).
- For-profit ventures with social impact, aligned with at least one UN SDG.
Key dates
- Registration deadline: February 15th, 2026 through this link | https://www.hultprize.org/register
- Project submission deadline: February 28th, 2026.
- Portugal National Competition: May 2nd, 2026 —Lisbon, Portugal.

- Teams are required to submit before February 28th to submit:
- A Pitch Deck (PDF).
- A 4-minute Pitch Video (YouTube link).

How Universities Can Get Involved

- Nominate promising startups through our Startup Nomination Form (recommended teams will still need to complete their registration by February 15th and complete submissions by February 28th. Nominations will help identify local talent).

This National Competition is not only a competition phase but a celebration of Portuguese Startups' entrepreneurial spirit, and a unique opportunity to collectively shape the country’s representation on the global Hult Prize stage.
